At the request of the hero’s daughter, Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to accompany their hero, David Anthony Martinez, to his final resting place and attend military honors. It will be our privilege to do so.
David served United States Army and was honorably discharged as PV2. After military life, he worked for a company that built aircraft windows. He then went on to work as independent contractor maintenance painter.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed hang gliding, deer hunting, camping, surfing, and traveling. He loved anything to do with nature. He loved all sports and “being grandpa was his final job and only interest in the end.”
David will be missed by his wife, Elizabeth, lovingly known as “Liz,” and his children, David Jr., Lina, and Corrina. He will also be missed by 11 grandchildren and 17 siblings.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to the cemetery, approximately 15 miles. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
