The family of Hospital Corpsman First Class Victor Manuel Velez, 43, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

HM1 Velez, a native of Puerto Rico, was serving this country in the US Navy.  He was living with his family and stationed at Camp Pendleton.  Sadly, this hero was traveling with his family last Saturday on SR-76 in Oceanside when his car experienced mechanical problems.  HM1 Velez exited the vehicle to address those problems and was struck by an oncoming truck.

We have been asked to accompany this hero from Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary in Fallbrook to San Diego Airport for his final flight home to Puerto Rico.

HM1 Velez is survived by his wife, his daughter and his son.

There will be Tags for this mission.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will provide accompaniment from the mortuary to the airport. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
