The family of Calvin David "Dave" Chappell has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him with an accompany and a Flag Line, it would be our honor to do so.

Calvin David Chappell, 66, was born on September 6, 1951 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Rufus Chappell and Gladys Compton and entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2018 in Long Beach, California at the age of 66 years.

With hard working hands and dedication, Dave was an engineer in the aerospace industry for over 30 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, he served from 1971 to 1974 and earned an Honorable Discharge for his years, bravely fighting for our freedom. Dave will be interred at Riverside National Cemetery with military honors.

Dave was a Gold Star Dad (GSD) and was met at Heaven's gate by his loving Son, Army SPC Jason Kristopher Chappell who was Killed in Action in Iraq in 2004, his Brother, Richard Chappell, his Great-Granddaughter, Brinley Moore, and his parents, Rufus and Gladys Chappell, all who preceded him in death.

Dave leaves behind his loving family: Wife, Kathleen Chappell, Son, Patrick Webb, Daughter, Wendy Webb Glenn (Stevo). Daughter-in-law, Stephanie Davis Chappell (Jason's widow), former Daughter-in-law, Gretchen Valdivia, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place, approximately 58 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
