The family of Ramon Hernandez is requesting the assistance and accompaniment of the PGR. It is our Honor and Privilege to do so.
The procession will depart Haley-Olson on January 22, at 8:30 Hrs. Service will be at LA National Cemetery's Pavilion at 1100 Hrs.
 
Ray enlisted in the US Navy May 1952, retired November 1981. 
Ranks in the Navy: CPO - 11/1962, SCPO - 5/15/1967, MCPO - 8/16/1968.
 
Service medals: Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of the VFW 3552 and American Legion 348.
He served the community as a member of the Palmdale Elks Lodge 2027 as a past Exalted Ruler and chaired the Scholarship and Americanism Committees.
In his life he also volunteered with the Sea Cadets.
Ray was very much loved in the community. He had a giving heart and was quick to compliment a job well done.

Ray retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service, and later became a schoolteacher.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the Mortuary in Lancaster to L.A. National Cemetery, (approx. 65 miles). Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery, please feel free to do so.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there, by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
