The friends of Robert Stewart Fletcher and our friends at Risher Mortuary have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their hero to his final resting place and attend his final military honors. We are honored to fulfill their wishes.

Robert served in the United States Navy from 9-22-55 to 9-19-61. At the time of his Honorable Discharge he was rated as an Apprentice Seaman, SH-3100. He served on the USS Princeton, LPH-5.

Following his service to America he worked in the aerospace industry at Boeing Corporation. Robert suffered a medical emergency a year and a half ago pulling through the gate at his apartment. Our hero suffered a near death experience including a heart attack, stroke and a collapsed lung. While awaiting a 911 response his neighbor performed an impromptu last rites and prayers. This had the effect of awakening Robert to the strength in the power of prayer and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in that moment.

Robert, in his younger days. enjoyed working on cars and loved guns and shooting. He loved hunting and fishing with his father and was a skilled bowler. Our hero also enjoyed meals with his buddies at local coffee shops. Sadly, they all pre-deceased him.

Robert is without family, he never married, so we are honored to help his friends who, in the end, cared for him. They are Luis and Marisa Perez, a couple that were his family since our hero’s tragic day.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his friends from the Mortuary to the cemetery, (approx. 57 miles). Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery, please feel free to do so.
