Per request of our good friend Aaron Magaña (Colton Funeral Home) the family of Roy Undefer has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.

Roy was born on 28 July 1923 in Ohio. On May 18, 2015 Roy entered into Eternal Rest.

Roy proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army. He was attached to Company B, 1635th Engineer Construction Battalion as a Light Truck Driver. Roy was the recipient of awards/citations that included the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal World War II. He was honorably discharged as a TEC5.

Roy is survived by his wife, Effie, who he was married to for 71 years. His surviving children are daughter, Linda Housley of Redlands, son Larry Unkefer of Illinois and son Greg Unkefer of Colton. He has 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In Roy's younger years, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He went on many hunting and fishing trips with friends. He and his wife Effie used to go often to Seven Oaks to fish. Roy also enjoyed playing cards with his friends. Roy prided himself for his vegetable garden each year. We all enjoyed the fruits of his labor with the abundance of tomatoes, squash and green beans. He was jokingly referred to as the "farmer".

In his later years, Roy enjoyed watching baseball and westerns on television. He would occasionally go to the casino with his wife Effie and daughter, Linda. Roy also enjoyed being with his family, when they would get together for family events and holidays. He will be missed by all.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
