The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the Acosta family to participate at the service where Final Military Honors for Louie Acosta will be rendered.

We are proud and honored to join our hero's family and friends for this event.

Louie entered the U.S. Army February 27, 1968. He served his country for six years, mostly as a soldier in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in February of 1974. At that time he was a SP4. For his distinguished service he was awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60- device, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, a Purple Heart with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster.

Following our hero’s service to our country he worked in construction. Louie was an avid NASCAR fan, loved football and baseball. He enjoyed playing the Lotto, the outdoors and collected Army memorabilia as well as garden gnomes.

Sadly, Louie passed away a year ago after several years battling prostate cancer attributed to the effects of Agent Orange. He was cremated and did not receive Military Honors at that time.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Acosta, and his step children, Darryl Moore and Misty Gamble. Additionally Louie is survived by six siblings, Henry Acosta, Ernest Acosta, Rebecca Murdoch, Steve Acosta, Daniel Acosta, and Teresa Acosta as well as four grandchildren.
