The family of Gerald Tumbleson has requested the assistance of the Patriot Guard Riders in honoring their Hero on the occasion of his Final Military Honors at Riverside National Cemetery.  We will proudly accommodate that request.

Gerald served in the United States Navy from July 1961 - August 1963. At the time of his honorable discharge his rating was a Gunner Mate GMMSN S1. He served on the USS Providence, the first guided missile cruiser. It was the Flag Ship of the 7th Fleet.  He was on board when they provided a humanitarian mission to Saigon, Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Following his military service he worked for Northrop for 27 years in the fighter development and production plants in El Segundo as well as Palmdale. He worked on the F-20 Tiger Shark, FE-18 and the Tactic Blue 1st generation stealth aircraft. He retired from Northrop as Tooling Manager, Fighter Aircraft.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and shooting as well as woodworking and enjoying a beer while at the barbeque. He loved his family and adored his wife Susie who proceeded our hero.

Gerald is survived by his son, Jeff Tumbleson, daughter Ann Olds, his siblings Timmy and Judy Tumbleson and 5 grandchildren.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
