George Stanley McJannet, 88, USAF, San Diego – 9 December 2016

The family of George Stanley McJannet, 88, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.
 
George enlisted in the US Air Force on 13 Sept. 1952 and served till 12 Sept. 1955 achieving the rank of 1st Lt.   He served proudly, started flying B-25s and later was assigned to Strategic Air Command.  He moved on to B-29s, C-97s and C-47s.
 
George graduated from Hoover High in 1945 then attended San Diego State earning his Bachelor’s Degree.  He then attended UCLA earning his Master’s Degree in Geology.
 
George was preceded in death by Jean, his wife of 56 years.  He is survived by 2 daughters, Lynne Myers and Beth McJannet, 2 sons, Robert McJannet and Jim McJannet and his 4 grandchildren.
 
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  Our hero will be arriving from Bakersfield and will meet us at the staging location.  We will then accompany this hero and family to his final resting place, Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.   For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery we will meet you there.

1400 – Flag Line, Funeral Service with Full Military Honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
