We have been invited to attend the services of ETN2 Donald Gordon Bailey, a veteran of the US Navy and two tours in Vietnam.   It will be our privilege to do so.

ETN2 Bailey served his country in the US Navy for 10 years.   He served on the USS Hunley, a submarine tender, and after a 1973 port call in Sydney, en route to Pearl Harbor, two teenage girls from New Zealand were found hiding out in one of the Hunley's missile crane control cabs, when a sailor was spotted carrying food up the ladder to the crane. Hunley was diverted to Brisbane to offload the stowaways, and the "helpful" sailors were disciplined.  Additionally, Don served on board the USS Lipan (85).  '''NAMESAKE''' - An Indian tribe of the Apache linguistic stock found in Southwestern North America.

After his service to this country, Don continued to support the military in several civilian capacities, such as:   Receiving Foreman for the 11th Naval District: Raising their rank from the bottom all the way up 1st in the nation. He was also a Hazmat for the Navy in Southern CA and Logistics Specialist for the military through One Touch Support a Naval Supply Network.

He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle having made the run to the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington DC.  His Harley will be there and the Funeral Home has made arrangements to have a Harley Hearse for the Accompaniment.

Don is survived by his wife Debra Lynn Bailey, (Daughter) Tanya Rene'e Shell, (Son) Jeremy Daniel Bailey, (Sisters) Barbra VanNostrand, Diane Bailey, Carol Bailey. (Brothers) Keith Bailey, James Bailey, Robert Bailey.  and 3 granddaughters.

We will provide a flag line at the mortuary in Chula Vista, CA, a 21-mile accompaniment to Miramar National Cemetery and a flag line at the cemetery where there will be a 3 man team rendering Military Honors.
