The family of David L. Thomas has invited the Patriot Guard to Honor this American Hero, It will be our Honor and privilege to do so.

David L. Thomas served in the US Army and was a Forward Observer with the 1st CAV, CIB . He served in Vietnam from Mar 19, 1969 to March 26,1971. He attained the rank of SP4 (E-4).  David earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, & Army Meritorious Service Medal.  David was very proud of being a part of the brotherhood of Veterans and being associated with the Vietnam Combat Vet, 1st Cav, Recon Scout.

In Davids civilian life he loved to work with his hands, and was good at it. He was a very quiet, and reserved man but once you had him as a friend, you had a friend for life. David worked as a mechanic, handyman, welder, and special cheese-maker where he maintained the machines that made the cheese. In Davids off time he loved working on his cars and his off road vehicles. David loved camping in Glamis in his younger years, and riding dune buggies and ATV's.

David is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Valerie, 2 sons, John & Daniel, 1 grandson, and 1 on the way.

David was exposed to Agent Orange while in Country, which resulted in him passing from prostate cancer.
