The family of Deputy Sheriff Rebecca Joann Raymond, as well as the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to attend her memorial and honor her service in the Sheriff’s Department and citizens of the County.  We are honored to do so.

Rebecca Joann Raymond, 28 years old, and her fiancé Brian White, 30, a US Army Warrant Officer, passed away on Saturday, July 29th, 2017 as a result of an aircraft crash in the mountains of Big Bear, Ca.  Brian had rented the plane and flew them to Big Bear where he ultimately proposed to her and presented her with an engagement ring on the tarmac of the airport.  They had just departed Big Bear Airport to return home when the crash occurred.

Rebecca began her law enforcement career with the Pismo Beach Police Department and then continued on the next step of her career to the Federal Board Of Prisons in Victorville.  In 2016, she was hired by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and left the BOP.  At the time of her passing she was assigned to the Patrol Division of the Barstow Sheriff’s Station in Barstow, Ca.

In her off-duty life Rebecca was a part time high school volleyball coach in the high desert, and enjoyed running with her fiancee Brian.

Rebecca is survived by her loving family, Mike (father, US Army Veteran), Christy (mother), six siblings, sisters Jennifer, Jesica (currently Active Duty USAF, stationed in Germany), Paige, her brothers Michael (US Army Veteran), and David.  She is also survived by her extended family from the Sheriff’s Department and many other friends.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and her family from the mortuary to the funeral service and back to the mortuary. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the funeral service, we will meet you there.
