The family of Charles Edwin Eichler has invited the Patriot Guard to join them in paying honors to this another of the "Greatest Generation" from WWII. It will be our honor to do so.

This request comes in from Charles' daughter Sandra, who is also one of our own PGR members since 2007.

Charles joined the Navy in 1941 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1945. During that time Charles served aboard the USS Bremerton (CA 130) in the Pacific Theater.

Charles was an avid USC fan to the core, it was also his Alma Mater. Charles followed them no matter where he was, either in civilian life, or military life. He loved Pete Carroll.

When Charles became a civilian he did a little time in the movies. He was in the movie "Captain Courageous" and "Mutiny on the Bounty".

After the movies he sang for the" Roger Wagner Chorale Group" at the Hollywood Bowl.

After that Charles got employment working for "Howard Hughes" and then became a business owner in the Aerospace Industry.

Charles always loved helping Veterans, and loved watching USC games. His daughter also said he liked going down to the beach right up to the end to "check out the scenery".

Charles leaves behind his wife: Phyllis, 4 children: Sandra, Adam, Erik, and Brian, 10 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild.
