The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to accompany their hero on his final journey and attend his military honors. It is our privilege to fulfill their request.
Michael Salinas served in the Unites States Army/Army National Guard US. He served close to 20 years, active and inactive service, and retired. He was honorably discharged on 02/29/2012 at the rank of Sergeant (E5). He served two Operation Iraqi Freedom tours, one tour lasting over a year. His MOS was Automated Logistical Specialist. He was awarded the Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal w/2 Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army
After his military service, Michael worked as an IT contractor. His enjoyed riding motorcycles, baseball games (Dodgers), and concerts (Eagles). Michael loved his children.
He was known for having a big heart and a generous spirit. He was a giver who willingly helped many people throughout his life. He had a strong and unwavering faith in God, was a proud follower of Jesus Christ, and remained deeply loyal to his country.
Michael is preceded in death by his son Andrew and brother Marcus. He leaves behind two other sons, Michael and Aaron; daughter, Lynette; and his mother, Grace.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this will be a flag line only mission at Riverside National Cemetery. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate and we will meet you there.

(714) 206-1227You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just who we are honoring.
