The family of Antonio Geronimo Laderas has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero at his final military honors.  It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.

Tony proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years.  At the time of his honorable discharge, he held the rank of AD-1, Aviation Machinist 1st Class (E-6).  He earned ribbons including: NDSM (x2), Navy Good Conduct (x5), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal and South West Asia Service Medal.  He served on the USS Constellation (CV64)

By the time of his retirement, he had suffered an illness that was deemed service related and he was VA 100% disabled.  When he was able. he would enjoy gardening and cooking and helped out when he could with his wife’s business.  Sadly, he spent the last 6½ months in a the hospital before he passed with his loving and devoted wife by his side 24/7.

Tony is survived by that loving wife, Lu, their two sons, Tony Jr. and Alan.  Our hero will be missed by their two grandchildren and Tony Sr’s two sisters.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this is a flag line only (FLO) mission at Riverside National Cemetery.  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just who we are honoring.
