PART 2

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to accompany WWII hero, PFC William E. Kutnock, to the cemetery where he will be laid to rest on American soil after 82 years.  We are honored to fulfill this request.

William Kutnock was born on 01 July 1923, the son of Stephen and Elizabeth Kutnock.  He enlisted in the US Army on 06 February 1943 in Clarksburg, West Virginia.  William was serving his country during WWII when he gave his all in the line of duty.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced that U.S. Army Pfc. William E. Kutnock, 20, missing in action during World War II, was accounted for May 16, 2025.
In 1943, Kutnock was assigned to Company D, 4th Ranger Battalion, "Darby's Rangers."  He was killed on 19 September during Operation AVALANCHE, the amphibious invasion of Italy, after his unit encountered enemy fire on an overnight reconnaissance mission on the Maiori-Pagani Road toward the village of Sala in the commune of Corbara.  After the firefight, his unit conducted a thorough inspection of the battlefield but could not locate his remains.  The War Department issued a finding of death for Kutnock on 01 December 1944.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying this WWII hero from the funeral home to the cemetery, approximately 15 miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the mortuary, we will meet you there.

NOTE:  The weather continues to be hot.  Please take precautions and stay hydrated and eat something light.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just who we are honoring.
