The San Diego Police Department and the family of Officer Jonathan DeGuzman, 43, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him by forming a Flag Line of Honor at the cemetery, we would be honored to do so.
Officer DeGuzman was killed in the line of duty in San Diego while serving his community as a police officer.
Officer DeGuzman was a dedicated police officer, having served 16 years with the department, he was a Gang Enforcement Officer. He had previously been wounded while on duty and was recipient of the department's Purple Heart award.
He is described by his fellow officers and superiors as an outstanding officer and individual who was always talking about his family when not on duty.
The PGR is aware that our Law Enforcement officers are our front line on the home front, keeping us safe by risking their lives every day. We respect and appreciate that commitment, we thank and honor them.
Officer DeGuzman is survived by his wife and two children.
The SDPD has asked the PGR to form a Flag Line of Honor at the gate of the cemetery as the procession enters the gate, after which we will be dismissed.
It is expected to be warm, please hydrate the day before and day of the mission. Do not forget to eat as it will help you withstand the heat.

Please DO NOT go directly to cemetery and try to park there as we have told the PD that we will not add to the parking congestion at the cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
