The Family of David Perez has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their Hero and be present during Military Honors for his service to his nation.  It will be our privilege to do so.

David was born and grew up in Monterey Park. He passed of kidney cancer at the age of only 45.

David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a combat veteran with enlistment from 1989-1993, he attained the rank of Lance Corporal with deployments to the Gulf, Southwest Asia and Kuwait. David earned many commendations for his service.

In civilian life David was a Correctional Officer at Lompoc Federal prison in Santa Barbara.  He was and is a Marine, fitness was a must while hiking and running Marathons to stay in shape and fit.  David enjoyed life cooking his favorite BBQ and singing karaoke every chance he got.

David leaves behind three sisters, two brothers, three children, 3 grandchildren and two Godchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the Mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
