NOTE: This mission involves riding on an active Military Base.  Each motorcycle rider should have registration, and proof of insurance.  You should also wear hard sole shoes, long pants, full-fingered gloves, a long sleeve outer garment, eye protection, and a DOT helmet.  A brightly colored reflective vest is no longer needed but recommended.  Have your I.D. ready, as we will be pre-screened prior to departure in order to facilitate our entrance onto the base.

Due to OPSEC (Operational Security) limitations, which involve troop movements and on-base activities, exact details of this mission will be explained at the Mission Briefing only.

SPECIAL NOTES:

If you are planning to attend on your motorcycle, if at all possible, please RSVP to the R/C as quickly as possible using his email, phone, or smoke signals.  We have been advised the motorcycles will be allowed on the tarmac at SCLA, but only the number of motorcycles that have RSVP'd.  You will still be allowed to walk onto the tarmac if you cannot RSVP - just not bring your bike on.

Additionally, the base will have security personnel at SCLA to scan IDs so that we do not have to stop when we hit the gate.  If you would prefer to turn around at Painted Rock and not continue on base, that can easily be accommodated as well.

We will be accompanied by the Battalion Motorcycle Mentor and a contingent of Active Duty motorcyclists from the base.  The Mentor will brief us as to the route and ensure all riders are aware of any regulations or requirements specific to the base.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  Everyone is welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
