The PGR has been invited to take part in this joyous event. We have been asked to stand a Flag Line for the veteran and family, to participate in presenting the colors, to line the street with motorcycles and to show our appreciation for this hero's service and sacrifice.
Karina Chavez, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, served in Iraq before being honorably discharged as a Corporal in 2009. Today, Karina works at a Vet Center that provides services for combat veterans to help them with issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anger. As a single parent of two, Karina recently purchased her first home. Working a full-time job and living on a single income, she hasn’t had the time or financial resources to make necessary repairs to her home.
Through HomeStrong's Heroes Home Repair Program and GRID's innovative training initiative, Troops to Solar, volunteers will be finalizing the home improvement projects.
HomeStrong USA is repairing Karina’s roof, air conditioning unit, addressing plumbing and electrical issues, and installing a new fan, dishwasher and security lights around the perimeter of her home. In addition, HomeStrong USA is installing drought tolerant landscaping in Karina’s front yard to help lower her monthly water bill and address the California drought. GRID Alternatives will be installing a new solar system on Karina’s home to help lower her energy costs.
Veteran job trainees and other volunteer supporters will be at the Lake Elsinore residence celebrating the completion of home repairs and activating the solar system. There will be a short presentation recognizing program supporters and donors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
