The family of US Navy Chief John J Triarchis Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Chief Triarchis was a Sonar Technician (Surface) Chief Petty Officer (STGC).   He served from 1970 to 1992, and retired after 22 years service.   He served aboard the USS Orleck (DD-886), a Gearing-class destroyer and the USS Somers, a Forrest Sherman-class destroyer.  He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War.  For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Sea Service Ribbon and 5 Good Conduct Awards.

The family has asked for a short accompaniment to a 0930 service at Miramar National Cemetery.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
