The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the caregiver and friend of PO2 William B Williams, USN (Ret), to honor this hero for his service to his country.  We will be honored to do so.

Willy, who had no family, served his country honorably in the US Navy retiring after 21 years.  He was a Veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

For his service Willy received the National Defense Service medal w/ Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam),  Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Good Conduct medals (5), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device, National Defense Service Medal –Korea and the Korean Service Medal w/ 1 Engagement Star.

In retirement, Willy spent much of his time at the Fleet Reserve in Imperial Beach.  He had many friends there, some who will be there for his final send off and some who will be joining us in the procession to the cemetery.

Willy was preceded in death by his wife who passed in 2009 and his only son.  He will be reunited with his wife at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery.
