The family of Lester Carlyle (91) has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
 
Private First Class (PFC) Lester Carlyle served in the Marines 4th Division from 29 January 1943 to 13 Sept  1945. He served in WWll was a radio man and made 4 landings. Ro-Namur,Tinian, Saipan and Iwo Jima. He saw the first flag being raised on Iwo Jima.
 
After his military service, Lester worked at McDonnell Douglas for 35yrs and was the program manager for the ejection seat that's still being used today.
 
Lester loved Model A cars and volunteered at the Palm Springs Air Museum Victory Squadron.
 
Lester is survived by his wife Eudeen and her children grandchildren and great grandchildren, sons Tom & Chris, grandchildren Blair, Bryce, Cameron and Maggie, and great grandson Ryder.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be standing a Flag Line as this hero receives his Final Honors.  Please see the time table below.

1400- KSU to assigned shelter for Flag Line, Service, and Military Honors
 
 You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please ride/drive safely.
