The Family of Harold Martinez, age 93 has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him for his military service; It will be our honor to do so.

Harold enlisted into the U.S. Army from February 1944 - April 1946.  Harold served in the 14th Armored Division assigned to the 7th Army of the 6th Army Group during World War ll. Western Allied Invasion of Germany and the Allied Advance from Paris to the Rhine. The division official nickname was "THE LIBERATORS". Harold was discharged as a corporal. Harold has been awarded the "Purple Heart" after receiving injures in the tank as it was pierced by a German Rocket. Two soldiers inside the tank were killed. His Captain was injured also. Harold was transported to a Paris Hospital. After his recovery Harold return to battle until he was discharged.

In his civilian life, Harold worked 30 years at Ford Motor Company, and then 2 years at Boeing and 5 years at Long Beach Naval Base. He worked hardest with his home life and rising 7 children. Harold loved sports. he also Coached Little League Baseball for 15 years. (So needless to say, all 6 boys could play for him). Harold loved to read and was proficient at crossword puzzles. Harold also enjoyed bowling for many years. He also loved music too, and was a smooth dancer with Bertha.

Harold is survived by his wife Bertha of 74 years and Sister Bella. Harold and Bertha has seven children, Harold Jr, Ronald, James, Larry, Steven, Judy and Phillip. He had 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
