The family of James R. Needels, 82 of Hesperia  has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to be present during his funeral with military honors on Wednesday March 20 at 1415 Hrs at RNC. It will be preceded with an accompaniment from Desert View Memorial Park in Victorville. It will be our honor to do so.

Our hero enlisted into the Air Force upon graduation from high school  in Ohio. While serving as a fuel specialist at a base in Korea he was run over across the torso by a military transport truck. He was medically discharged with 100% disability as an Airman Second Class on 28 May 1957.

He enjoyed being a hillbilly according to his wife Dana, and his blood was “red, white, and blue”. He also enjoyed playing on his tractor, gardening, woodworking, traveling, and winning awards with his Dodge duelly.

In addition to his wife Dana, he is survived by 1 daughter, 2 step daughters, 1 step son, and 6 grandchildren.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your volunteer participation in honoring this military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
