The family of David William Hill, 78, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.   It will be our honor to do so.

David William Hill was born on September 28, 1940 and entered Eternal Rest on June 27, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer.. 

David enlisted in the U.S. Navy on December 29, 1958  and retired after 20 years of service on January 05, 1979 at the rank Petty Officer 01 (E-6).  David was assigned to the Food Service Operations Division and was given a commendation for his superior service.  While serving in the Navy he was deployed to Vietnam and Guam on the following ships:  USS Howard G. Gilmore, USS Sauley, USS Whitfield County and the USS John King DDG 3.

After his service in the Navy, David worked in the shipping department for Thermco.  He had many hobbies which included: Carpentry, gardening, playing solitaire on the computer, enjoying his telescope and play in his observatory.

David is survived by his wife: Carolyn,  children: Christina, Julia, Guy and Alan, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Siblings: Nancy, Bob and Don.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
