The family of Jack Richard Evans has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to be present to honor their Hero for his service to our Country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Jack Evans, 95, served his Country for thirty-three years in the U.S. Navy. Jack served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Among his numerous awards/citations, Jack was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He retired at the rank of Captain.

Jack didn’t go to work after retirement. He became a Master Mason and was a 33 degree Mason. He ran the Scottish Rite Center for several years.

His wife got Alzheimer’s and he took care of her for twelve years until she passed away in 2001.

In 2009 he married Nancy Watson and was married to her until his death.

Jack is survived by his three children Tanya, Dawn and Jack Jr. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three stepchildren Diane, Stephen, and Kenneth, four step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family residence to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

0850 – Mission Briefing

0910 – Flag line as our Hero is moved from the family car to the “PGR” trailer.

0920 – KSU to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, 1700 Cabrillo Memorial Dr., San Diego, Ca. https://goo.gl/maps/x1NvXzpMtyr   

1000 – (Est) Arrival at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

1030 – Flag line, Funeral Service with Military Honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
