The family of Darrell Howard Head has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.

It will be our honor to do so.

Darrell was born in Flint, Michigan on 12 September 1935.

Darrell joined the Army in 1951. He went through Basic Training at Fort Knox Kentucky and Infantry Training at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He deployed to Korea where he served as an Infantryman for the 24th Infantry Division in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was wounded in combat from a grenade fragment and enemy fire and received the Purple Heart. In addition, he received the Army Achievement Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged as a Private-2(Pvt-2) from the U.S. Army. 

Darrell was a diehard hockey fan, his team was the Red Wings. In his earlier years, he loved to golf and spend time with his family. He was a collector of football and hockey cards.

Darrell survived by his wife Margarita, his daughter Darlene and his son David. He also leaves behind his grandson Christopher.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.
