The family of Larry Leigh Tate 82, US Army, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for his military honors. It will be our privilege to do so.

Larry Tate, was born on April 17, 1939 in Inglewood, California to Roy Kenneth Russell Tate and Elizabeth Marian Campbell, and entered into eternal rest on May 23, 2021 in Bellflower, California.

Larry proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era, from November 10, 1961 and was discharged on August 9, 1962, for his honorable and faithful service to our great nation. He served a remaining 2 years in the reserves. 

Larry also dedicated over 25 years of hard work while employed as a mechanic working in the aerospace industry.

Larry is survived by his loving family: Wife, Evelyne Tate, Children, Linda Goetz, Step children, Elizabeth Vassar, Gerald DaSilva, and Dominick DaSilva, Siblings, Maggie Philip, and Carl Tate, Grandchildren, Breanna Goetz, Stari Virrey, Julia Williams, Russell Vassar Jr., Andrew Vassar, Tye DaSilva, and Morgan DaSilva, Great Grandchildren, Jeffrey Virrey, Sienna Virrey, Alyssa Hana, Nathan Hana, Bella Williams, Jacob Vassar, and Leila Vassar, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Tate, and son, Robert Lee Tate.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approx 5.5 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
