The family of William R. Dobbins, age 73, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in honoring Bill's life and service to his country. It is our privilege to do so.
Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968 at which time he received an honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant (E-4). He served in Vietnam at Tan Son Nhut Air Base from 24 November 1965 to 23 November 1966 as an Air Freight Specialist. He was awarded a USAF Commendation Medal for that period.
During his continued service stateside, he met the love of his life, Bobbie, when they were both serving in the USAF. She dealing with passengers, Bill still dealing with air freight.
In civilian life Bill continued his career in aviation services, 26 Years with Continental Airlines (passenger services), and 20 years with FedEx (courier).
He enjoyed the company of and honored his fellow Vietnam Veterans and really enjoyed riding his bright red Harley Road Glide with the Old Road HOG chapter and the Independent Riders USA.
Sadly, Bill passed away on 04 January 2018. He is survived by his lovely and loving wife of 49 years, Bobbie Dobbins, his brother, Steve Dobbins, sister, Kathy Rush, son, William Dobbins Jr., daughter, Alison Vought, and his five adored grandchildren.
