We have been invited by the family of Francis Peter Redmond, 61, to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
Francis Peter Redmond better known as Harel Altman proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army from April 20, 1977 to March 8, 1978 when as Private First Class. Harel worked with transporting and storing chemicals which lead to him getting ALS. Harel achieved the Expert Rifle and Expert Hand Grenade Medals at the time of his Honorable Discharge.
After his military service Harel was an Artist and Musician and worked in the music industry and film industry composing music and sequencing music to film.
Harel was very passionate about helping his fellow Veterans and did so by helping in any way possible. Harel along with his life partner Steve Altman took time out of their lives to help Veterans get the medical help that they deserved through the VA for all battle scars seen and unseen. They also helped by feeding the homeless Vets and helped the ones that wanted a home, find a home to live in because they too believed no one should serve their Country and have to live on the streets.
A bonus fact Steve saw us honoring a Hero last week at Akes Funeral Home and said he would love that for Harel. Sharnell, one of their funeral directors, said she would take care of it and made sure we were contacted.
Harel is survived by his soulmate/caretaker Steve Altman.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the funeral home to the cemetery, approx 8 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery please feel free to do so.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
