Title: Sgt John Samnan Tangor, 36, USMC/GWOT - Anaheim/RNC - 20 March 2023
Post by: Lilygirl54 on March 16, 2023, 12:10:42 AM
The family of Sgt John Samnam Tangor, age 36, has invited the PGR to accompany their Hero as he is moved from the family home to the cemetery for his final honors.  We are grateful to do so.

John Samnam Tangor was born in Artesia, CA on November 13, 1986 as the youngest of three children.  He spent his childhood in Norwalk, CA and graduated from Norwalk High School in 2004.

Upon graduation from high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served with 3d Battalion, 4th Marines Lima Company.  He served from August 22, 2005 to August 21, 2009.  He was a proud Marine and served two tours in Iraq: September 2006 to May 2007 (Operation Iraqi Freedom), and February to September 2008 (Operation Enduring Freedom).

After he was honorably discharged in 2009, John continued to serve with the reserve unit in Des Moines, Iowa while residing in Kansas City, KS from August 22, 2009 to May 30, 2013.

In 2012, John moved back to Southern California.  He rode a grey motorcycle from Kansas City to Anaheim to reside with his brother, Daniel and sister-in-law, Ashley.  John leaned on the love and support of his family, friends, and the camaraderie of his fellow Marines to adjust to civilian life.

Following his military service, John worked in industrial security for 10+ years.  John started dating Giada Tang in November of 2017 and on her birthday in 2019, they were married.  They decided on the last name Tangor to commemorate their union and start a new legacy.

John Samnam Tangor left his loved ones too soon in the early morning hours of March 4, 2023.

Left to cherish John’s memory and legacy are his wife, Giada Trang Kim Tangor, their beloved children, Daphne Kim Tangor (2.5 yrs old) and Eovna Kim Tangor (3 months old).  He is also survived by his brother, Daniel Or (Ashley, Elizabeth, Carter, Beatrice), his sister, Hosanna Or (Asia-Kismet, Luren, Kahlil), and his aunt, Bora Kim Som.  In addition, he is survived by countless extended family and friends.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this is an accompaniment from the family home in Anaheim to Riverside National Cemetery (RNC).  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.
