Per the request of the family of Charles William “CW” Mitchell, the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) have been invited to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

CW was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on 21 September 1941.

CW proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from February 1959 to December 1962. CW received Firefighting training at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado. CW was honorably discharged from Kincheloe Air Force Base, Michigan, as an Airman Third Class.

After the Military, CW worked for TWA for thirty-six years as a radio/telephone expert.

CW was a long-time PGR member and attended numerous missions.

CW is survived by his wife Doris, son Andrew and daughter Amanda. He also leaves behind his sisters, Ruth, Martha, Sharon, and his brother John.

NOTE: This mission posting will facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.

NOTE: Please observe the latest “COVID-19” restrictions.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this will be your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.
