The family of Army Veteran Jose Oscar Hernandez has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Jose proudly served with the US Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 in the Calvary Division and attained the rank of SP4/E4. His efforts earned him the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, two Overseas Service Bars and an Expert Rifleman Badge with the venerable M-14. He went on to serve in the USA Reserve until Jan 1975.
Following his military service Jose worked for Southern California Gas Company until he retired in 2004. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting, camping and taking road trips in his RV.
