Through the support of our friends at Risher Mortuary, the family of Army Veteran George Polanco has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Mr. Polanco served with the US Army from April 1946 to June 1947 in Infantry as a Rifleman, MOS 745. He performed non-combatant duties in Japan, during the occupation, under Gen. MacArthur with the 21st Infantry Service Company. He qualified as Marksman with the M-1 Rifle and awarded the World War II Victory Medal at separation.
Prior to retirement, George worked for his son's business, Sanctuary Clothing, and loved camping and off-road motorcycling.
PFC Polanco is survived by wife Beatrice of 67 years, daughter Yolanda, sons Chris and Ken, 3 sisters, and 5 grandchildren.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
The weather is predicted to be hot so please stay hydrated and don't forget to eat; it can make a difference with your ability to withstand the heat.
