The family of Lawrence Peurifoy Jr. has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard to pay Honors to this American Hero. It will be our honor to do so.

Lawrence served in the United States Navy from 1949 - 1959. All of his friends called him Larry. Larry served during the Korean War.

During those 10 yrs. of service he was stationed aboard the USS Haven (AH-12), a hospital ship based at Midway Island. Larry was a radio operator.

Other duty stations that Larry served at was in Phoenix, Ariz, and  Bremerton, Washington.

Upon his 10 yr. completion in the Navy, Larry joined the Los Angeles Police Dept. where he served for 22 yrs. 20 of those years was as a motor officer. Larry was proud that he was one of the first to ride the Kawasaki motorcycle when Los Angeles changed over from Harleys.

In Larry's off time he loved hanging out with his family, and going traveling. Larry was married to his child hood sweet heart Chris for 59 yrs.

Larry leaves behind his wife Chris of 59 yrs, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 daughter Phyllis DeLapp, 2 sons, Dave and John, and 5 Grandchildren.

 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
