The family of Navy Seaman Estevan Marquez has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Estevan served honorably from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. He served aboard the USS Kearsarge during combat operations off the coast of Korea as well as operating with the 7th Fleet, assisting the Nationalist Chinese in the evacuation of the Tachen Islands. In February 1955 the Kearsarge supported units of the fleet in the successful evacuation of 18,000 civilians and 20,000 military personnel from the islands.  He had attained the rank of Seaman/E3 at discharge.

A farmer, a sailor, a welder, according to his family he did it all. He is survived by six children including a daughter Susan who is also a military veteran.  He was the proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
