The family of John Ray Yearian has requested the Patriot Guard to pay Honors to this American Hero, it will be our Honor to do so.

John graduated High School, 3 months later he went into the United States Air Force to serve his Country. John served from Sept. 1971 to Sept. 1975.

During that time John was promoted to rank of Sergeant. John was deployed to Vietnam and was a Crew Chief Mechanic on a refueling tanker. John earned the Vietnam War Service Medal.

7 months before John discharged out of the Air Force he and his fiancée were married in Casper, Wyoming to become Mrs. Judith Rae Yearian on Feb. 1, 1975.

After the service John began attending Bailey Technical School for auto and diesel mechanics in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduation John went to work with Cummins as a field service tech for the next 8 yrs. In 1986 the family moved from Wyoming to SoCal where John concluded his 32 yr. career as General Service Manager and Applications Engineer. That is where John earned the name "Diesel".

John loved fishing, boating, classic cars, and riding his motorcycle. John was very active in numerous car clubs. John was part of the Whittier Host Lion's club, Hog chapter, City of Whittier Parking and Transportation Commission, and supported the diesel mechanics program at Long Beach City College.

John is survived by his wife Judy, 3 children: Carrie, Teresa, John Dean (JD)

He also has 2 sisters: Charlene & Carol, 1 brother: Gary, and 8 Grandchildren

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
