The family of MSGT David Wilson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be there to honor their Hero, it will be our honor to do so.
MSGT David Wilson enlisted in the US Air Force on December 14, 1978 at the age of 19, after Bootcamp he was transferred to Germany for a time, then came back to the states and was assigned to Whiteman AFB in Missouri. His speciality was Combat Communications. This was where he met and married his wife Teri who was also in the USAF at the time. They then were transferred back to Germany for a few years, then to Langley AFB in Virginia. When transfer became available David asked for duty in So California so they could live near Teri's family in Hemet, CA. By this time they had their 3 children and wanted the kids to know their family. David became a recruiter and continued doing that for the remainder of his 20 yrs of service. David was honorably discharged on February 28, 1999 at the rank of Master Sergeant.
Teri had been raised in Hemet, which was a small town at the time, and knew everyone. In addition to a large family, she had a very large close knit group of friends. David immediately fit right in to that group, and over the years their family included many of those friends. They had an annual Christmas Eve open house for many years and all the friends, and friends of friends would gather for a joyous celebration at the Wilson home. When David became ill a couple of years ago, the family and friends rallied around him and had a slogan to help him fight, "Wilson Strong" became their mantra. David was determined to last long enough to celebrate one more Christmas Eve Party, and he did. He passed away on January 6, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.
After the military David went to work as a manager in shipping and receiving and continued that until he became ill. He enjoyed many activities with his family and friends including golf and bowling. David was also a sports fan and loved the Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Of course he did, he was born in Massachusetts.
David is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Teri, one daughter Sabrina, two sons Brian and Sean, 2 precious grandchildren who he adored, his mother Martha, and 3 brothers. He will be forever remembered and missed by so many family and friends, too numerous to count.
