It is an honor the family of Officer Keith Boyer and Whittier Police Department invites the Patriot Guard Rider to participate in their loved one's and hero's funeral services.
Keith grew up in Whittier and was a member of the graduating class of 1980 La Serna High School . Keith loved music and played the drums in classic and contemporary bands.
Keith joined the Whittier Police Department as a Reserve Officer, then a jailer and 28 years ago as a full time police officer to serve his community. In addition to patrol duties, Keith worked as a K-9 officer with is partner "Sam", and as a School Resource Officer at his alma mater, La Serna High School. Keith was known as the "best of the best", humble, always smiling, positive and respected by younger officers as the "go to officer" in the field. Keith gave his heart and soul for his Whittier community.
On the morning of 20 FEB 17, Officer Boyer responded to investigate a simple traffic accident. Without warning one of the drivers shot and fatally wounded Officer Boyer.
Keith is survived by parents, four adult children and granddaughter.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
