The family of Francisco Javier Moreno, 84, US Army, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders in honoring the memory of their beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather on Monday, 13 March 2017, 0930, at Riverside National Cemetery. It would be a pleasure and honor to do so,

The former corporal was drafted into the Army in 1953 until December of the next year. He was a light  weapons infantryman with Company C 65th Inf Reg. Our hero was in Korea for 1 year, 4 mos, and 25 days. Awards include the Korean Service Medal w/1 RSS, National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal.

He was born in Prado, CA in January of 1933 and raised in Chino, CA. He graduated from Chino High in 1951. He died 19 February 2017.  He worked as a lead workman in shipping and crating with Lockheed Martin for 27 years and retired in 1995.

He finally settled with the family in the High Desert community of Phelan for the last ten years. He trained race horses and was an active member of the Junipero Serra Catholic Church and the Phelan post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved to play horseshoes there and play in the tournaments. The VFW in Phelan can be identified by a tank in the parking lot.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Angelina. Children include Frances Kidd, Martha Sheldon, John Moreno, and Pauline Moreno Gailor, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. And speaking of grandchildren Paulines daughters would spoil the grandfather almost every night with some ice cream. His favorite flavors include mint and chip, cookies and cream, and vanilla. He lived the good life.

The cremains will be brought to RNC by the family. The PGR will accompany the family starting from the Outpost Cafe, 8685 Hwy 395 in Hesperia. This is just of of I-15. https://goo.gl/maps/y3abXSVFujM2
