Richard Allen Griffis Jr.
  "Rick"
He was proud to be 101st airborne and just as proud to be PGR.
I want to take this time to thank, Gunny, Beth, and David Corbin the mission ride captain. Also every one of the Patriot Guard Riders. I was acting in behalf of the family, Jeannie Griffis. There was so many details that need to come together for the honor of the last escort of a warrior. Beth helping from the first contact and many after that. To David contacting the mortuary, the cemetery, and me. Working the details of bringing volunteers together to honor this veteran. I do say volunteers everyone of you have a life and other things to do, but you came graciously and giving of your time.
I talked to Ricks dad Richard (army veteran tanker) he was so taken back by the out pouring of support for his son. The PGR respect and honor for "his son"
His wife Jeannie in the missing man formation, flag line in such glory of our red, white, blue, our freedom. It really brought the reasons Rick served his country, his community, and as he served his fellow veterans young and old.
Me I'm only a citizen of this country I never served with our military. But this is a reminder! I am not an American the continent is far to large for that. I am a United States Citizen and to be called just an American belittle this country. what you did for my friend by all involved and gave of your time makes me proud to have been born in the United States of America!
It is time for you to stand down my warrior hero, rest now Rick, thank you for your service.
Thank you one and all.
a father of a marine.
I am indebted to everyone one of you.
