Part Two of Two PartsThe Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to help accompany and honor SFC Joseph E. Gantt as he is finally laid to rest. SFC Gantt was serving in Korea with the 503rd Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on December 1, 1950 and died while a prisoner on March 27, 1951. He was 26 years old. Joseph was initially listed as MIA and later as a KIA, not recovered. On Saturday, 28 DEC 13 he will finally be laid to rest with full Military Honors.
SFC Gantt also served in WWII. He is survived by his wife.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero approx. 3 miles from the mortuary to the church for funeral service. Following which we will then accompany him and his family approx 4 miles to the Cemetery for burial and final Honors. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
