Henry served his country in the US Army as a PFC rifleman in World War II. Henry enlisted September 25, 1944 and served honorably.

He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations in Luzon, Philippines and in the Occupational Forces of Sendai Miyagi Japan with the 11th Airborne Regiment.

Henry also served with the Honor Guard of the 82nd Airborne Regiment in Germany, until the unit was deactivated in November, 1946, at which time he was separated from active duty.

He was awarded:

Following his Army service, Henry was employed by the Los Angeles County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator. He retired after 33 years in that department.

He enjoyed keeping his home sharp with landscaping, brick and cement work. Henry also made two Koi ponds and several aviaries as part of his beautification efforts.
