URGENT: Manuel Hidalgo Jr., 31, USMC, Palmdale, 14 Jan 2014

We have been invited to participate in an accompaniment to Knights of Columbus; 719 W Ave. M, Lancaster with a flag line at the service for Manuel Hidalgo Jr., who attained the rank of E-4 Corporal, USMC who passed away in a car accident. Manuel served at the HQBN Marine Corps Base 29 Palms from Aug. 21, 2000 – Aug. 20, 2004. He volunteered for deployment during the Iraq war but they didn't want to ship him out. He served his full duty at the Marine Corps Base 29 Palms. He was awarded Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, 2 Letters Appreciation and 2 Meritorious Mast.
                                                                                                                           
He leaves behind his wife of 15 years, two daughters ages 10 and 12 years old, father, mother, sister, and brother, he was the eldest of all of them. After being discharged from the Marine Corps he got hired on with the California Department of Corrections. He served as a Peace Officer until the date of his passing. 
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the family from the Halley-Olsen to Knights of Columbus. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to Knights of Columbus for a flag line out in front please do so, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please ride/drive safely.
