The family of Cpl Brian Del Real, 21, USMCR has invited the Patriot Guard Riders in honoring the life of their beloved son and friend. It will be our honor and privilege to be there.
Our hero was lost his life so early and tragically in a motorcycle accident on July 31 in a Hesperia rural neighborhood. He loved his bike according to his “brother” and “stroller mate” Kevin Tappe.
Brian and Kevin were like twins and very close. Kevin came to live with Brian’s family very early in life and they were basically inseparable. When Kevin joined the USMC Reserve and was assigned to tanks Brian decided to do the same back in 2014 and was assigned to Delta Co, 4th Tank Battalion, 29 Palms. He was a model Marine and mentor to newer recruits. He will be missed by many.
Brian could be found frequently in the gym, eating healthy and living healthy. He worked as a security guard at a local warehouse shoe store. He graduated from Oak Hills High School and attended Victor Valley Jr. College. He was a track and field athlete in school and an avid reader of books including English Literature, Science, and Math. Kevin described him as a nerd who wanted to become a doctor.
His awards while in the reserves included Tank High Shooter Achievement Award.
Cpl Real is survived by by his parents Robert and Mary Del Real, brother Robert, and his “stroller brother” Kevin Tappe.
Rosary will be at the Holy Family Church at 11. I do not know how early the deceased will be brought to the church. We will provide a flag line for family members however as they enter the church. Following the service we will provide the flag line as Cpl Del Real is loaded into the coach and his final ride to his resting place at Desert View. Services are expected to begin at 1230.
Please exercise caution riding/driving to the church. The two main E/W boulevards, Main St and Bear Valley, has had a high volume of TC’s. Weather is expected to be in the 100’s, still, so keep yourself hydrated.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
