The family of
Albert Andrew (Andy) Hughes, 64, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Andrew was a Vietnam War
era veteran who served proudly in the US Army from 1972 to 1975 achieving the rank of SP4 (Specialist 4th Class). He was stationed in Germany and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifle Medal.
In his post-military career, Andrew was an employee of the San Diego City Police Dept where he worked as a property room clerk. He loved riding his motorcycles especially his Victories and his Indians. He also loved traveling and music.
Andrew was a dedicated member of the Patriot Guard Riders and was very committed to honoring all those who served this country in the armed forces.
Andrew is survived by his wife Donna and many friends who had the honor of knowing him and riding with him. He will be missed.
The family has requested an accompaniment from the family home in Pine Valley to this hero's final resting place, Miramar National Cemetery, where Andrew will receive his military honors.
There will be tags and a plaque for this long-time PGR member's mission. NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran and PGR member. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero and family to from the family home to Miramar National Cemetery where he will receive military honors. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

Albert Andrew Hughes 6/10/1953 - 9/22/2017 You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
