The family of PC2 James R. Nisleit has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

PC2 Nisleit proudly served his country, in the United States Navy, in the Vietnam war from 1966 through 1969.  For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal – 5 Campaigns, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After his service to his country, Jim finished his college degree via the GI Bill, and worked for 37 years in different positions in the US Postal Service.  His hobbies included photography, golf, and HO Model Trains.  Jim was a lifetime member of the La Mesa Train Club located in the Train Museum in Balboa Park, and was also a member of the Scottsdale Train Club and the Santa Fe Railroad Historical and Modeling Society.  Jim also loved golf and was very proud of his cherished “hole in one”.

During PC2 Nisleit’s service in Vietnam, he was exposed to Agent Orange, and suffered from its effects until final succumbing in April 2017.  As such, PC2 Nisleit’s passing is a combat related illness and there will be dog tags available for this hero’s service.

Jim is survived by his wife Linda, son Gilbert, daughter-in –law Lisa, and 3 grandchildren.

The family previously conducted services for Jim in Arizona.  Therefore, this service at Miramar will be a flag line only as he his honored with full military honors and interned.  We will accompany this hero, with a Missing Man Formation, in his final journey from the MNC Staging area to the interment shelter.  Therefore, some large motorcycle flags will be appreciated.

Note: This notice is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.
