Dear Patriot Guard Riders,
On October 8, 2017, Officer Matthew Ward succumbed to his injuries following an off-duty traffic collision. While the loss of Matt left all who loved and knew him heartbroken, the kindness and generosity of people like you have shown light through the darkness.
On behalf of the Cypress Police Department and the Ward family, I want to thank you for providing staff with engraved dog tags in memory of Matt, and forming a flag line at the cemetery as we laid our dear friend and coworker to rest. Your thoughtful gift and display of patriotism brought us comfort and support during this difficult time.
