The family of Joseph F Schiano has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Joseph twice serviced his country in the US Air Force, time that included 2 tours of Vietnam.  He served from 1968 to 1971 and again from 1972 to 1975. He achieved the rank of SSgt (E-5). 

Joseph was a qualified Aviation Maintenance Specialist, Weapons Maintenance Specialist, Airplane Mechanic and Armored Specialist.  He had a Secret clearance and attended 22ndAir Force NCO Leadership School.  He was in Vietnam during the TET offensive.

Joseph was a Life Member of the Lakeside VFW,  Post 5867 and the Lakeside American Legion.
Joseph is survived by his wife Patty.

The family has requested an accompaniment from the Mortuary in El Cajon to Miramar National Cemetery.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero from the mortuary to his final resting place where he will receive military honors. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.
